Dupont paints the portrait of a city briefly visited as if one wished to fix the features of a love whose memory becomes a little diffuse... However, any traveler who has made a stopover in one of these cities recognizes in these brilliantly executed paintings the significant and even unique atmosphere of these metropolises.


Effervescent, frenetic, this is how one imagines the bubbling city or others like the narrowness of the streets of Barcelona, the laundry hanging from the windows...the density of the population makes it a very lively place which characterizes the cities depicted by Dupont...


They are the sketch, the possibility, the invitation of our imagination to invent a narration for each of these artworks. By using a technique that is becoming more refined and a touch that is increasingly assertive, he gives us back the complexity and richness of these places, and their light.


Dupont works with the Venice turpentine and dries the paint under a plastic film, which allows him to create the vibrant reflections that enamel his canvases. These reflections disturb our apprehension of perspectives and open the surface of the canvas to a dimension that was previously invisible.
