Arnaud
DUMAT
Biography
Arnaud Dumat was born on September 12, 2019… He was 52 years old.
A life marked by joy, passion, and hard work, but also by personal tragedies and the challenge of learning to live with illness.
Before embracing his artistic career, he worked as a television and radio journalist and later became a media executive under the name Alexandre Delperier.
Today, he has turned that page to devote himself entirely to art. He did not choose painting—painting chose him. It came as an undeniable calling.
Without any formal training or artistic background, he creates from emotion alone. His palette knives speak where words fall short. Standing before the canvas, he confronts his vulnerabilities and profound sensitivity. He plays with colors and forms, layering paint in delicate strata that build up over time, creating contrasts, textures, and unexpected ruptures.
His paintings often take on a sculptural quality—so much so that he invites viewers to touch them.
His journey is unconventional, and so is his work.
Precisely because he entered the art world without academic training or preconceived artistic influences, Arnaud Dumat has developed a visual language entirely his own. His work is fresh, distinctive, and singular within the contemporary art landscape. He embraces this uniqueness as the essence of his artistic identity.
Today, Arnaud Dumat has one simple ambition: to experience genuine emotion through his work—and to share that emotion with others.
While paint may stain for some, for him, it is a form of cleansing.
