MODERNE ART FAIR 21 - 25 OCT. 2021 BOOTH 250 Presenting works by PATRICK HUGHES GENERAL ADMISSION PAVILLONS AVENUE DES CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES SATURDAY 23 OCTOBER BOOTH 250 MEET PATRICK HUGHES British Master of art and illusion Patrick Hughes made his first three dimensional relief painting in 1964. His painted reliefs constantly baffle his audience, demonstrating how deceptive appearances can be. As we walk towards the seemingly flat paintings they loom out at us, creating a disorientating, moving experience. MEET ZHUANG HONG YI By using traditional chinese materials to create pieces influenced by his life in the Netherlands, where he has been living for 19 years and with references to Western Impressionism, Zhuang Hong Yi turns each piece into a reflection of its cultural heritage and his life in Europe. Hemanipulates thousands of rice paper flowers, combining them with layers of acrylic and oil painting, creating large-scale fields of petals on canvas. Our artists on Moderne Art Fair... CAROLE A. FEUERMAN American sculptor and author working in Hyperrealism. She is one of the three major artists credited with starting the movement in the late 1970s. She is the only woman to sculpt in this style. Her career is highlighted by iconic figurative works of swimmers and dancers. JEFF KOONS Born in 1955 in York, Pennsylvania, Jeff Koons is without question one of the most important living artists. Since his emergence in the 1980s Jeff Koons has blended the concerns and methods of Pop and Conceptual art with popular culture to create his own unique iconography, at times controversial and always engaging. PATRICK HUGHES Patrick Hughes lives and works in London. Widely recognized as one of the major painters of contemporary British art, he is also a designer, teacher and writer. His works are part of many public collections including: the British Library and the Tate Gallery, London; the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow; The Deutsche Bibliotheek, Frankfurt and the Denver Art Museum. ZHUANG HONG YI Internationally renowned, Zhuang's work is triggered by a fusion of ying and yang, combining the ancient Chinese tradition with the spirit of western modern aesthetic. Zhuang Hong Yi's paintings are often characterized by a bold and surprising mix of bright colors and are made of mysterious layers of images. |
