Master of the month

Published on 19/03/2026

Laurence Perratzi, born in France, left a career in finance in 2001 to fully dedicate herself to sculpture. Trained under renowned sculptors, she has been exhibiting worldwide since 2003, with her works featured in prestigious locations. Today, she explores the body, movement, and emotion through bronze and organic materials, creating a sculptural universe that is both powerful and poetic.

Laurence Perratzi is a figurative artist who explores the body in motion, deeply influenced by her athletic background. Her sculptures capture moments of tension and lightness, where the figures seem to defy gravity. Moved by the strength and elegance of her work, Karl Lagerfeld personally chose to welcome her artworks into his home.

Perratzi seeks to capture moments in which the body appears poised to move, creating a tension between stillness and motion.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Bronze plays a central role in Laurence Perratzi's work. Cast in limited editions, it conveys both strength and durability, while preserving the subtlety and finesse of movement. Alongside this noble material, Laurence explores more raw and organic elements — wood, straw, jesmonite, paper, and zeechium — used either on their own or in dialogue with bronze. Some works take on a more immersive dimension, incorporating suspended, assembled, or repeated elements that invite the viewer to shift perspective and physically enter the sculptural space.
